We are seeking an experienced IT System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our network, server infrastructure, and firewall systems, with a strong emphasis on security management. This role requires hands-on expertise in security protocols, network architecture, and system administration.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Network Management:
    – Design, implement, and maintain the company’s LAN, WAN, and VPN networks.
    – Manage and monitor network routing, bandwidth, network performance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
    – Ensure network security and connectivity from time to time.
    – Configure and manage switches, routers, and wireless access points.

  • Server Infrastructure:
    – Install, configure, and manage server hardware and software.
    – Perform regular maintenance and updates on servers.
    – Ensure high availability and reliability of server systems.
    – Manage virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
    – Identify risks in server infrastructure and work with cross functional team to mitigate the risks for business-critical applications.

  • Firewall System Management:
    – Configure, manage, and monitor firewall systems to safeguard the network.
    – Implement and enforce security policies and access controls.
    – Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
    – Respond to and mitigate security breaches and incidents.

  • Security Management:
    – Develop and implement IT security strategies, policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    – Conduct regular security awareness training for staff.
    – Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents.
    – Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Infrastructure Management:
    – Oversee the maintenance and support of the company’s IT and CCTV infrastructure.
    – Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
    – Maintain up-to-date documentation for infrastructure and network configurations, administrator manuals, system operator guides, troubleshooting and system design methodology guide.
    – Collaborate with vendors and service providers for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
    – Overseas of infrastructure systems products licenses and support services. Ensure the products licenses and contracts are renewed on time to avoid any disruptions in operation.
    – Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in infrastructure systems and cloud computing and make recommendations for new services or platforms when appropriate.
    – Provide technical insights for the design and implementation of system infrastructure solutions.
  • – Undertaking any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior and/or Company.


Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • Proven experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with firewall systems (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
  • Proficiency in server administration (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with web application environments, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, CDN, routing, and load balancing.
  • Thorough knowledge of networking, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices, with experience in penetration testing.
  •  Experience in writing shell scripts using scripting languages such as Bash, Windows Batch, Perl, Python, etc.
  • Experience with systems, networking, and storage design methodology with best industry practices.
  • Possess with the certification of Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA)/ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)/ Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate/ CompTIA Security+/ VMware Certified Professional (VCP) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong people skills and communication skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees in the organization.
  • Good time management, project management, planning, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive thinking, able to work under pressure in an office environment with occasional on-call duties for emergencies.
  • To be based in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
  •  To possess own transport and be expected to travel.
